At Seaview Project, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From supporting people experiencing homelessness and substance misuse, to helping deliver wellbeing, recovery and creative activities, our volunteers play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming and compassionate environment for everyone who accesses our services.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and experiences. Whether you can offer a few hours a week, are looking for work experience, completing a university placement, or simply want to give back to your community, we will work with you to create a role that feels meaningful, supportive and rewarding.
We believe volunteering should be flexible and personal. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, we take time to understand your interests, skills and goals so we can help shape a role that works for you. Opportunities throughout the week include outreach support, wellbeing activities, group facilitation, creative projects, kitchen support, maintenance, administration, room supervision and peer support roles.
Some volunteers bring valuable life experience and interests while others bring personal life experience of homelessness, addiction or mental ill health. All volunteers are welcomed and treated equally and in turn volunteers offer empathy, encouragement and hope to people currently facing challenges to feel understood and less alone.
Volunteers receive training, guidance and ongoing support. This includes safeguarding, professional boundaries, incident management, data protection, fire safety and emergency procedures, alongside any additional training relevant to the role or personal development goals.
We provide structured supervision and emotional support to ensure volunteers feel confident, valued and supported throughout their journey with us.
Volunteering at Seaview is a two-way opportunity. Volunteers give their time, compassion and skills, while gaining training, experience, friendships and a renewed sense of purpose.

For some, it is a pathway towards employment or further education; for others, it is a chance to reconnect, rebuild confidence and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
If you are open-minded, compassionate and non-judgmental, we would love to hear from you.
Please visit Seaview on Fridays between 9am and 3pm to meet volunteers and find out more, or email admin@seaviewproject.org.uk to request an application form.
